What should I expect during a routine appointment?
While many things may arise during a routine appointment, you and your pet will always be treated with the highest level of care and compassion. Our team works collaboratively to address your pet’s needs, including performing a thorough physical examination and providing in-house diagnostics or treatments when necessary. We are committed to delivering safe, considerate, and attentive care, and we strive to maintain full transparency with pet parents regarding all recommendations and associated costs.
What diagnostics can be performed in hospital?
We offer comprehensive in-house diagnostic services, including digital full-body and dental X-rays, blood work, urinalysis, and point-of-care ultrasound scans. For more advanced imaging needs, we can arrange for a travelling ultrasonographer to perform a full diagnostic ultrasound at our hospital.
What is Fear Free?
Fear Free started in 2016 with one big goal. To help pets feel happier and less stressed. They offer easy-to-understand training and education for veterinarians, pet professionals, animal shelters, and pet owners. Their courses are created by top experts — such as veterinarians who specialize in behaviour, pain management, anesthesia, internal medicine, and by experienced trainers, groomers, and shelter professionals.
With so much confusing or harmful pet advice online, Fear Free works to make sure real pet experts stay trusted sources of information. By listening to both pet professionals and modern pet parents, Fear Free has developed some of the most innovative educational programs in the pet world. Their training focuses on improving pets’ emotional well-being and reducing fear, anxiety, and stress during everyday care, grooming, travel, and vet visits. In doing this, Fear Free helps strengthen the bond between pets and the people who love and care for them.
The team members at RSAH are happily Fear Free certified.
